If there is one thing I have learned in my own journey it’s that brotherhood is KING.
There is simply not substitute for regular, in person, face to face interactions with other men.
Sadly the majority of men’s friendships shrink throughout their lives and by the time they reach fatherhood they are more isolated than ever.
Paradoxically this often comes just when men need a support structure of other men in place to ride the storm of life’s trials and tribulations.
We’re told it’s “good to talk” but what if you haven’t got any other men in your life to talk to?
Us dads often put ourselves last in service of work and family but neglect to take time out for themselves – losing ourselves in the process – and not realising until it’s too late.
On the last Saturday of each month the Guild of Dads Hike takes place on the Ashdown Forest in West Sussex.
Two hours of walking, talking and hanging out with other dads, away from your other responsibilities, leaving you refreshed, invigorated and recharged afterwards.
